Sovereign & Secure

Welcome to Sovereign & Secure!

Many people leave medical appointments feeling rushed, confused, or unsure they fully understood what they agreed to.

Sovereign & Secure is an educational course designed to help you understand your rights, options, and roles in healthcare decisions so you can participate with confidence and clarity.

Your journey starts here ↓

What does it really mean to have a choice?

What Medical Sovereignty Means

Participating meaningfully in your healthcare decisions

Understanding your rights as a patient and setting boundaries

Asking informed questions about options, risks, and alternatives

Navigating conversations with purpose and agency

Medical sovereignty isn't about having all the answers or standing in opposition to medical care. It's about understanding that your voice matters and learning how to use it. Knowing how to ask questions opens the door for you to engage with medical professionals sensibly, weigh options thoughtfully, and make choices that align with your values.

So, who is this course for? The short answer is

ANYONE

Wanting to understand how to make medical decisions before having to decide quickly

Prioritizing informed consent and clear communication with providers

Desiring to feel grounded, instead of overwhelmed, in healthcare settings

Viewing preparation as an act of care for themselves and for others

Medical decisions don't always happen on a schedule. Emergencies, sudden diagnoses, or unexpected situations can require choices to be made quickly, often under stress. Understanding your rights, knowing how to ask for clarity, and having a framework for decision-making makes a meaningful difference in those moments. Being prepared ahead of time allows you to engage more calmly and confidently when it matters most. You'll find security in knowing what to do even when circumstances are out of control.

MEET our FOUNDERess

Sierra Emrich Hamm

I’ve been helping individuals navigate healthcare since 2010, providing knowledgeable support through some of life’s most vulnerable and consequential moments, from childbirth and surgery to chronic illness, complex diagnoses, and high-stakes medical decision-making.

As a registered nurse and patient advocate, I’ve worked across multiple areas of healthcare and witnessed firsthand how overwhelming modern medical systems can become when people are forced to make important decisions without truly understanding their options, risks, or rights.

My approach blends clinical insight with compassionate, relationship-centered guidance so people can move forward with clarity rather than fear.

At Honeycomb Care, I help individuals and families build confidence in their healthcare choices, better understand the realities and risks of modern medical systems, find alternatives in alignment with their values, and develop practical strategies to protect the integrity of their health, autonomy, and future.

But this work is about more than healthcare.

It is about reclaiming discernment, responsibility, and peace in a world where many people feel pressured, dismissed, manipulated, or disconnected from their own intuition and values.

Through clinical wisdom, educational mentorship, traditional knowledge, and faith-centered encouragement, I help people become more informed, grounded, and capable stewards of their own health and wellbeing.

This is not simply health coaching or how-to course.

It is the restoration of informed choice, courageous discernment, and confident leadership over one’s own life and health.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have a planned in-patient procedure... can my loved one take this course to be an advocate for me?

Absolutely! Access to Sovereign & Secure isn't restricted to a single type of participant or role. You're free to share it with anyone who plays a role in your healthcare journey: family members, caregivers, and advocates included.

I'm planning to have a home birth... is the Sovereign & Secure class still applicable for me?

Of course! Sovereign & Secure is designed to prepare you for emergencies. You never know when a home birth could turn into a hospital birth, and a stressful, high-stakes situation is not the time for figuring out how to handle medical decisions.

My wife and I are hiring a doula... do I still need to take this class?

Yes! Sovereign & Secure will help you choose wisely and engage effectively with any medical provider. You'll learn how to organize your thoughts, ask the right questions at the right time, and ensure you and your provider are on the same page about your care. Self-advocacy is a life skill you need regardless of who you hire.

I'm healthy and I don't anticipate needing healthcare... is this worth my time?

Definitely! An emergency is an emergency because it is urgent and unexpected. It is crucial to know how to advocate for yourself before you need to. This applies to healthcare as well as other areas of your life. The skills taught in Sovereign & Secure also translate to work, home, and every other aspect of your life.

I work in healthcare... is the Sovereign & Secure class relevant to me?

Certainly! Clinical training often focuses on protocols, systems, and patient care, but it rarely addresses how to navigate healthcare as a patient. This course offers practical tools for communication, boundary setting, and advocacy that apply to healthcare workers from the roles of caregiver and receiver.

✶ Testimonials ✶

some kind words from our clients

When my husband and I were expecting our first baby, we knew we wanted a natural, unmedicated birth and hoped to avoid unnecessary interventions, but we weren’t sure how to confidently navigate that. Sierra helped us feel informed and supported every step of the way. She shared thoughtful, evidence-based resources that helped us better understand our options and feel at ease making decisions that aligned with our values. That knowledge gave us so much confidence and peace going into birth. Beyond her guidance, Sierra truly felt like a friend—someone we could trust and lean on. She continued to support us even after our baby was born, and to this day I know I can reach out to her if I ever need anything. We are so grateful for the role she played in our journey into parenthood.

I am so grateful I found Sierra. I knew I would be having a 4th C-section and was concerned about needing blood after my surgery due to clotting issues and some previous c section complications. Sierra was so helpful and full of knowledge. I knew nothing about this process. She helped me find blood donors,  work through all the paperwork required by the blood bank and doctors. It was quite the process but we were able to get it all figured out before my surgery. My surgery date even got moved up which caused many issues but she helped me through it. I knew walking into my delivery that blood was waiting for me if I needed it. It really relieved a lot of stress.

Also during my pregnancy I ended up having Sierra look over my bloodwork because I ended up being anemic. She gave me multiple tips on getting my levels up and some additional nutritional tips. Though I wasn’t able to get my numbers as high as I wanted before delivery she directed me on treatment in the hospital and when I got home. She has such knowledge about women’s health and nutrition I was so grateful.

I also hired Sierra to prepare my placenta for encapsulation. She was so professional and used high standards for sanitation. She drove a long distance from her home to not only pick up my placenta after delivery but also deliver the capsules to my front door.

Sierra went above and beyond for me during a very few stressful months when a lot of unknowns were happening. I felt heard and trusted her completely. I wish I had found her sooner when I was having my other babies. I would recommend her to any of my friends.

Dear Sierra, we really wanted to thank you for the way that you allowed God to use you in our labor and delivery process for our son, Ezra. Prior to going into labor I had prayed that God would mark the process by his presence. I also prayed that God would help us to trust his exact timing of when Ezra would come. We remember meeting you when we first checked into the hospital at the very beginning of the labor process. By the time you saw us again we were weary and just wanting our son to be born already. We were sitting on the small sofa by the window and you looked at Aaron and I and calmly spoke the words, "well everyone has their appointed time." And through that Aaron especially was so encouraged and strengthened to trust our Father's appointed time. Hours later, still in labor and feeling even more weak, we had decided to call Dr. Delaunz to come and break my water. I was lying down waiting for him and falling asleep in between contractions. And Aaron told me how 30 minutes later you told him you hadn't called yet and that this rest may be exactly what Danielle needs. I slept an hour and a half and that rest was exactly what I needed. It gave me the strength to be able to push Ezra out. Sierra you are a gift, and God used you to point us back to trust in Him, and He used you to encourage our weary hearts. We pray God would do this through you with many more patients.
